" Come have a sit beta " i heard Radhika aunty speaking as i sat on the couch beside papa , today we finally decided to meet and see each other .

Her home was pretty with the walls painted in light hues of white along with dark blue at some corners giving the house a vibrant look , it was a mix of tradition along with a modern touch , the idol of Radhakrishn in the temple which stood right beside the door fills the house with divine energy .

All this time I was looking into my phone answering the Mails when a sudden clinking of bangles took my attention I looked up from my phone to see her - Ruhika Mehra , the girl liked by my parents.

She was looking simple but still - beautiful , she wore a Blue saree with her long black hair open . Her face was devoid of any makeup except a Black Kohl resting in her eyes making her Doe eyes to look big and beautiful. Her ears were adorned with Jhumkas which jingled as she walked down the stairs , i didn't realise how long I was staring at her until papa whispered in my ear making me out of my daze .

I cleared my throat before looking at the walls in front masking the embarrassment , she came and sat beside Maa taking to her and Younger clan who were too excited to meet her since the day maa told them about her .

In between all this Shivika , Ruhika's sister told me about how a big fan she is of my interviews and likes each post on my Social media account and thinka of me as her idol which are nothing but truth as her excitement could me seen in her face , in this mean time I realised that Ruhika and her sister they are polar Opposite while Ruhika talked less and was answering only the things maa and others asked her , it was almost difficult for Shivika to stop herself from talking , No judgment but that's what I observed .

Radhika Aunty also Asked me About my studies and Business which i answered until she asked me and her talk alone , i followed her upto her room while heart pounding in my chest with nervousness and why would it not I've never done this before .

After maa Told me that she said yes I asked Laksh to go through a background check on her before giving any answer from my side , I know it might sound ridiculous and even though Raghav did told me how good she but still I needed the confirmation from my own side atleast to know about the reason of her anxiousness the day I met her .

That day at the party when maa left her she looked bothered as of she wasn't comfortable and if got a chance would run from here , her hands she kept on calsping and unclasping while playing with her fingers and her shoulders they were hunched all the time when she stood with us and talked with Rudra , all of her movements showed her anxiousness well to be honest it wasn't really visible until you really try to observe it and me being the observent person did notice all her movements.

Entering her room i looked around it was spacious with a bed at the centre a couch near the window ,and photo frames of her family on the wall in front of the bed with some cute things Hanging on the wall overall the room was cozy and beautiful.

" Have a seat " i heard her soft voice to which i nodded before taking a seat on the chair of her study table

" You to seat please " i asked her to which she sat on the bed infront of me before looking at her lap fidgeting with the hem of her saree .

A minute passed with none of us speaking until i decided to break the silence as it was getting too awkward.

" Umm thank you " i whispered to which she frowned to which i mentally cursed myself off cource Kavyansh she doesn't know what you are talking about i thought to myself before i continued .

" For saving Maa that day in Raghav's wedding I am very grateful of you for your help " she shooked her head at my words before speaking .

" No don't be if anyone else would have been at my place then might've also helped her , I've done nothing huge for you to be grateful of me " she spoke while a strange warmness spread into my chest making me smile which i controlled nevertheless , i nodded at her and again the silence prevailed , I think I should've asked Rudra to give me a list of questions to ask so it wouldn't have been this awkward .

I again saw her fidgeting with her saree while looking here and there and I'd maybe hit My head somewhere but i was having this urge to calm her down , i sighed at myself before breaking the silence .

" So we are here to talk about the alliance so I would like to tell you About myself " i looked at her trying to read her expression who kept on looking at me attentively .

" I am a family man and for me my family comes first and i don't know what you know about me but according to social media I am an arrogant , cold and short tempered person which is apparently true but not for my family and closed ones . I've done my Graduation and post graduation from Harvard University and then at 22 I joined Rajvansh Empire and worked in its many branches before joining as the CEO at 25 and since then I've worked hard to take it to more heights "

" In my family I've Maa , Papa , choti Maa and Chote papa who are like my second parents , Then I've grandparents who couldn't make it today here due to dadu's health and after them I've Two sisters Adhisha and Navya and two brothers Reyansh and Ekalavya who is the twin of Adhisha , maybe you've met them during Raghav's wedding but all of us are no less than siblings , then I've a best friend Rudra Raghuvanshi and Raghav whom you know that's all "

I finally completed my long speech to which she kept on nodding before answering.

As you already know I am a Heart Surgeon at XX hospital , I've done my MBBS and Pg from Delhi and was working there since my internship and I've finally 6 months ago due to pe-rsonal reason and in my family I've Maa , Papa, Shivika and Me . I've only one best friend since my childhood which is Suhana and consider Raghav bhai as my elder brother " she spoke the maximum words words said by her until now , once she completed
She again looked down at her lap while i continued.

"So, are you okay with this alliance? Or would you prefer to meet again? And if it's a no, you can tell me-I'll handle everything downstairs."

She turned to me, her expression an unreadable blend of surprise and hesitation. For a moment, she just stared, as if the words had taken her completely off guard. Then, slowly, she shook her head-neither a clear yes nor no.

The gesture confused me.

She opened her mouth , before closing it again maybe finding the right words . Finally her voice came , soft but steady .

"It's not a no... but it's not a yes either," Ruhika began softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

I stared at her, eyes steady but kind, searching her face for what lay beneath those words. The late afternoon sun poured through the tall windows of the room corner .

I leaned forward slightly, resting my elbows on the table, but keeping a respectful distance. "I appreciate the honesty," he said gently. "You don't have to decide anything today. We're just...talking."

She gave a small, almost apologetic smile, twirling the edge of her dupatta between her fingers. "I know. It's just... everyone expects us to know in one meeting whether we want to spend a lifetime together. And I'm not sure I even know myself that well yet."

"That makes two of us," i replied

"My mother's already imagined what colour our wedding theme will be."

That earned her a real smile, albeit a fleeting one. "Mine's already asked if I liked your height."

I raised an eyebrow. "And...?"

Ruhika let out a breath of quiet laughter. "It's decent."

I smiled looking at her finally opening up a little after being quite the whole time .

I grinned. "I'll take decent." Then, after a pause, i added, "I don't want to rush you, Ruhika. But I do want to know you - not just what you studied or how many cousins you have. If nothing else, maybe we walk away from this knowing someone new."

"Yeah , but if you don't mind can I take a little time to think...to answer what I want , i don't wanna rush things Kavyansh " she spoke her words carrying a hint of nervousness.

I gave a curt nod to her before replying " i understand Ruhika and ofcourse take as much as time you want before being sure if you want us"

" But if you ask me maybe i want you as my wife "
